organic? lars lars... I wouldn't even eat that. when I say treats... I mean treats... cookies, cupcakes, brownies. now that will get their attention and attendance, along with a game of hang man on the board.
Treats. thats what i was thinking even before i looked at the other comments. treats for questions answered correctly, treats for reading, etc. try that, let us know. (do i get a treat now?)
Of course you get a treat-was that Jay or Heath? But the problem is, I don't really want to give candy, cause so many kids in our ward are, well, a little chunky. Do carrot sticks and apple slices count as treats?
When we had to teach that age group we just had them talk about what they were doing for half the class, rush through the lesson before they got bored, gave them some candy (carrots and apples are not candy, they can get less fat later), then let them out early. Works like a charm.
carrots and apples are you kidding me lars? although, I would love to see their faces if you were to pull out a bag of carrots. but then be prepared to be egged or tee-pee'd. heath-
Hey lars, Matt Nielsen here, an old friend of josh's. There's no easy way to teach teenagers, they're all constantly distracted by hormones and trying to look cool. Try pointing out the obvious similarities between the ancient and the modern (churches), and how no other churches do that stuff. The biggest thing is to keep the tempo up. Keep pumping them full of good info. It's great to use a lot of quotes from current general authorities. Get them involved and of course......TREATS!! Hope it helps, later.

BTW, Heathbar and Leslie-I would comment on your blogs once in a while, but it never lets me and then I get so frustrated I give up.
Also, Heathbar, I totally knew your Friends questions and i totally knew it before Julie!
