Big Boy Bike

I can't believe these are the only pictures I have of Carden's new bike.  I've been a slacker lately.

We bought Carden a new bike, letting him graduate from his tricycle.  He thinks he is big.  So very, very big.  He still smiles every time he gets on it.  I didn't want to wait until his birthday to get it for him, wanting him to be able to ride it while it's still nice out.

I had hoped he would be able to keep up with me when I go running, since he hates riding in the jogging stroller, but unfortunately he is still only three.  He's pretty fast on it now, but he gets distracted by everything he sees.  "Mom, hang on I need to scratch my nose."  "Wait! Look at this yucky poop!"  "Mom! There's an airplane in the sky! Stop everything!" A run that takes me 20 minutes ends up taking over an hour when he rides.  Sigh.  Oh well, maybe someday.

The Birthday Boy!

I late, I know.  Always behind on blogging...

Anyway, so Davey had a birthday! And he thinks he's 12 not two.  We kept our birthday tradition of having birthday pie instead of a cake for his second birthday.  Sometimes Mama just doesn't want to take the time to put together a big party.

I don't think Davey missed a birthday cake too much.  He ate so much pie I thought he was going to sick.

Always so serious...

A few milestones:

He's learning new words everyday.  He still likes to whine and cry so I've been trying to make him either sign or say what he wants, and boy does that make him mad!!

We moved his crib into Carden's room and all of a sudden we had a kids that slept through the night!  This kid just doesn't like to be alone.

He climbs. Climbs. Climbs.  On everything he can possibly find to climb on.

He is so loving.  If he accidentally (or not so accidentally) hurts Carden he'll go over and pat his back and tell him "It's ok.  It's ok."

He is such a Daddy's boy.  No complaints over here! He doesn't want anything to do with me after Josh gets home so Mama gets a break!

He loves Mickey Mouse and Lightning McQueen.  He's always taking off his pants so he can show me his Mickey Mouse diaper.  He spots Lightning McQueen in the store from a mile away.

Trucks and airplanes.  Goodness how he loves his trucks and airplanes!

He loves animals so very much.  We've gone to the zoo quite a lot lately and I think it's David's favorite place on earth.  He love the elephants and the monkeys.  Along with everything else.

He loves to go to nursery.

He's the worlds biggest cuddle bug.  If he could be held all day he'd be the happiest kid.

His best friend is his brother.  "Darden! Darden!" So cute.

Happy Birthday Davey!
