It's not even April and already we have to sleep with the windows open, all fans in the apartment on, and the sheets and blankets on the floor so we won't die from heat exhaustion in our sleep. Seriously, it's already up to 90 here. And it's March. MARCH. I keep hoping that for some reason this year will be different and it won't be hot in Arizona. I told Josh that and he just laughed at me.

So. I was sitting at my compter, staring at my blog and wondering what I should write about.  And then I saw THIS crawling across my floor IN MY APARTMENT:

So naturally I screamed and made Josh take care of it. And now we have a little scoripion sitting in a cup on our counter because we don't know what to do with it. I tried to feed it graham crackers, but he didn't like them. Weird.

Josh and I want to go to Havasupai (?) Falls with some friends this spring.  I called the reservation office today to see if we could make some reservations for a camp site.  And this is the awesome conversation that I had:

Reservation Lady (RL):  Hi, can you hold?
Me:  Sure!  (super friendly and polite, because I have no reason to be upset.  Yet.)

(ten minutes later)

Me:  Hello, Hello??
RL:  Yeah, hi, what was it you wanted?
Me:  I wanted to make a couple reservations for a campsite.  (with some disgust in my voice.  I HATE being put on hold).
RL:  Oh, sorry our office is closed.  You're going to have to call back tomorrow.

What?! Then why did you answer your phone?  And why couldn't you tell me this before I sat on hold for ten minutes?!

Today has been a frustrating day full of frustrating people who annoy me and make my life difficult.  Grrrr.
I hate stupid hair stylists who ask me what I want done and then don't listen to me and do whatever the crap they want to.  BTW, 1/2 inch DOES NOT EQUAL 2 inches.  If I had wanted half of my hair cut off I would have said so!!  Idiot.

Recipe Tag

My friend had this tag on her blog awhile ago and I've been meaning to post a recipe for it.  I figured that since I'm stuck in my room all night while all the scouts are playing nerdy games like Halo and this weird sci-fi card game, this is the perfect chance to post.

Since everyone always asks me for my no-bake cookie recipe, I'm going to post it so everyone can get it and stop calling me!  Just kidding, I love phone calls, so maybe I shouldn't post this... Anyway, here are the rules for the tag:  1. The recipe has to be quick and easy.  2. You have to be able to pronounce the ingredients and the cooking instruction terminology. Post as many recipes as you like.

And now here it is.  The world famous No-Bake Cookie recipe that managed to attract boys to our freezer all through college and is the only reason my sunday school class still likes me.

1 cup milk
1 cube butter (REAL butter.  None of the fake margarine crap or Josh will complain)
2 cups sugar
1/3 cup cocoa

Boil for about 45 seconds and NO MORE.  If you boil too long they turn out all hard and gross.
Then add:

3 cups whole oats (only the whole ones, not the fake quick ones.  Bleh!)
1/2 cup peanut butter (or if you're Heath, make that 2 cups!)
1 tsp. vanilla

Stir it all together and then put them on wax paper on cookie sheets and stick 'em in the freezer.  And leave them there until you eat them.  Seriously, they are sooo much better when they're frozen.

And I tag everyone, but especially Ma King, so she can post her AMAZING pumpkin cake recipe.  And everyone should look at her blog to get the recipe and then make it and tell her how amazing it is, because it is that good.
When I was in young womens, our weekly activities always involved crafts, cooking, or some spiritual lesson.  And every week the boys would be in the gym playing basketball.  Tonight, there are nine scouts and their leaders over here in my one bedroom apartment all playing...Xbox games.  Hmmm.  And what merit badge does that cover?  And why are they still here at 10:00 at night?

I heart Spring Break!

Especially because Josh finally has to wake up before me. He he!

I finally brought out the camera again

Just in time to take some pictures of us quadding with Ma and Pa King. They were so nice to invite us to go with them and their neighbors for a day of sun, shooting, and cows. I'm not a very experienced quadder, so it was an adventure for me (and Josh!) I'm also not used to calling it quadding-whatever happened to four-wheeling? Arizona is weird.

The awesome cows we ran into:

Aw, we're so cute!

Josh and I, Ma and Pa King, and their friend all hanging out by the RV:

Here I am in my awesome hat and sunglasses. Josh looks like he's about to throw up...probably because I drove so fast!

We unfortunately didn't get any pictures of us shooting bottles out of trees, but that was awesome too.

So the moral of this story is that Arizona is sunny and warm right now and everyone else should be jealous that they don't live here.
