This Thanksgiving? it Stink. Stank. Stunk.

Let's start with the negative first.

What I'm NOT thankful for: clogged milk ducts, MASTITIS, 101.5 degree fevers, doctors offices and urgent cares that are closed on Thanksgiving Day, a screaming baby with an upset tummy while I have a 101.5 degree fever and no husband at home to help.

What I am thankful for: A husband who comes home when I beg, my mom and dad being in town, an aunt to runs over to help, a cousin who insists that I call my doctor EVEN IF IT IS THANKSGIVING BECAUSE YOU NEED HELP AND THEY ARE PAID FOR THIS DANG IT!, 24 hour pharmacies, drugs, and a super cute baby who is happy now, even if he won't take his nap like he's supposed to.

The verdict of this whole situation: Most likely I'll be getting surgery on Monday. We'll see if the drugs work, but I'm not very hopeful.

Oh, I feel for you. It is horrible. Little natural lacation tip...send Josh to the store (Fry's or sprouts) to get Soy Lecithin. It's a capsule and it is an emolient - it will make your milk smooth able to get through the plug easier. If you're still plugged up, take 3 pills 3 times a day until it opens up. If opened, take 1 pill 3 times a day for a week or so to make sure it doesn't come back. They add this ingredient to chocolate so it doesn't clump! Good luck!

Yikes! That doesn't sound good the whole mastitis thing. Good thing for husbands and family.

Oh i know your pain!!!!!! I never was on meds but I seriously cried everytime I nursed. It went away after a couple of days. I probably should have called a doctor.

Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry. I didn't know surgery was a treatment for mastitis. I hope everything gets better soon.
